A full redraw of the original Assault Rifle 17 ([link]). (Link provided for in-depth instructions on the original design.) This version is more proportionally accurate, and comes with a variety of adjustments:
The barrel-mounted foregrip has been eliminated. The user would have had to move their hand a superhuman distance to reach it. The foregrip has been added as an optional attachment and now comes with much better ergonomics.
The handguard is now connected to the upper receiver.
The 'RearLifter' patented system allows the weapon to become lighter in the user's hands in the process of automatic fire, all the while eliminating recoil.
The front sight is now more easily removable as a rail attachment.
The stock is better suited for the shoulder and the side rivets hold the grenades to the stock more easily.
The grip now comes with thumb rests.
The magazine is now straight, has a clearer indicator, and the ribs are simpler to utilize.
The AR-17 is now fully ambidextrous.
DUC stands for 'Depleted Uranium Core.' The center is depleted uranium, but the outside is coated with specially shaped aluminum to have a more spiked tip, because it is inexpensive and rust-proof. DUC rounds were implemented in the AR-17 to restore the deficit of penetration found in .308 caliber when compared to standard 5.56x45.
The picture now comes with inconvenient side tilt!
thanks for the compliment!
